Professor Dr Muhammad Aziz Rahman is a leading Public Health Physician and academic with over 20 years of experience in public health research and education across Australia and internationally. His expertise spans tobacco control, non-communicable diseases, health promotion, mental health, Indigenous health, including the well-being of disadvantaged and multicultural populations. He has secured over $13 million in research funding, published 200+ high-impact papers with 100,000+ citations, and is ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists for the last five yeats. Prof. Rahman is dedicated to mentoring early to mid-career researchers and leads multi-country collaborations that shape national and global health policies.

A/Prof Rakime Elmir
Rakime Elmir is a registered midwife and lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. For several years, Rakime has worked in a variety of maternity settings. She completed her PhD in 2012 on women’s experiences of severe postpartum haemorrhage and emergency hysterectomy. Following on from her doctoral work, Rakime has explored fathers’ experiences of birth trauma and midwives’ experiences of obstetric emergencies and more recently, eating disorders in the perinatal period. Rakime is leading a project that seeks to implement a first national maternity ICU tool for ICU nurses.

Dr Naba Masad Alfayadh
Naba is a General Practice Registrar, serial social entrepreneur and International Health Advisor whose work has benefited more than a million people globally. Naba is reinventing global health access, helping re-write National and State guidelines to reflect the needs of multicultural Australian communities and ensuring equitable access to all globally.

Dr Marrwah Ahmadzai
Marrwah is an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar. She is also an advocate for anti-racist medicine, women’s health and health leadership. Her writing has appeared in the SBS, Guardian and the ABC and she is a speaker who has made appearances on the national and international stage including a TEDx talk on the power of storytelling in breaking down barriers.

Dr Esma is a clinical psychologist and founder of Mind Care Consulting. Prof Omar Farouque
Professor Omar Farouque is a physician and cardiologist practising in Melbourne. He is a recognised expert in interventional cardiology, having obtained clinical and research training in cardiovascular medicine in Adelaide, Melbourne and at Stanford University, United States. He was the Director of Cardiology at the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg from 2006 until 2025. He is also a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Melbourne and has co-authored over 190 peer-reviewed articles. As a volunteer member of the Australia-Sri Lanka Medical Aid Team, Omar has helped train interventional cardiologists in southern Sri Lanka.

Ranjana Rahman is a Women’s Health Physiotherapist.
She has been practicing for 16 years and specializes in managing women’s pelvic health across the lifespan, with a particular focus on pre- and post-natal care, complex birth trauma, pelvic floor recovery, prolapse (including pessary insertion), endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), infertility, complex bowel health, and pelvic pain.
She takes a holistic approach to treatment, combining manual therapy, dry needling, and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

With a PhD from UNSW, his research explores autonomic nervous system adaptations in chronic pain. Balancing academia and clinical practice, he is passionate about mentoring emerging researchers and translating scientific discoveries into real-world patient care.

Dr Abdul Rahman Ihdayhid
Dr Abdul Rahman Ihdayhid is a Cardiologist specialising in coronary and structural intervention, including cardiac CT. He is a Consultant Cardiologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital and holds an academic appointment at Curtin University. Dr Ihdayhid completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at MonashHeart, Melbourne, and earned a PhD in coronary physiology and cardiac CT from Monash University. His research focuses on coronary physiology, cardiac imaging, and structural heart disease. In addition to his academic work, Dr Ihdayhid has experience in research commercialisation in the field of artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering. He serves as a director and clinical advisor to med-tech companies, contributing to industry partnerships and innovations in cardiovascular technology.
